RICHARD ROLLER
Founder/CEO/Head Writer
Richard’s entrepreneurial career began at the age of thirteen, when he opened a dog grooming business in his family’s garage. He attracted so much business that his mom agreed to handle the bookings for his pampered canine customers.
While attending a small Catholic High School, in Burbank California, he wrote and secretly sold poems, for a dollar or two each, for his football teammates to submit as their own. Though he doesn’t remember the team ever winning a game, the habited nuns were so very proud of their "poetic jocks."
One of the nuns submitted his essays titled – "Money – The Sinking Ship" which won for California, and was published in an anthology of High School writers.
At a high/low point in his life, while homeless in Venice Beach, California, Richard produced a series of Venice Variety Concerts with the support of The Reverend James Cohn, pastor of The Methodist Church of Ocean Park.
The shows drew standing room only crowds. Richard takes little or no credit for the fact that, later, the Reverend Cohn became the Mayor of Santa Monica.
For all of his business ability, Richard could not ignore the calling of his Creative Muse, resulting in a growing slate of projects for feature films, TV, radio and print, some of which are featured in this website.
Richard is passionate about establishing Friend Ship Productions & Publishing as a writer-centered go-to source for multimedia projects that challenge, inspire, educate and entertain, and do so, into the distant future.
