While living in Venice Beach, California, Richard produced a series of Venice Variety Concerts  with the Reverend James Cohn, pastor of The Church in Ocean Park.  The shows drew standing room only crowds.  Richard takes no credit for the fact that, later, the Reverend Cohn became the Mayor of Santa Monica.

In the 1980’s, noticing the suffering that fleas caused his canine friends, like his awesome Aussie Angie, Richard began Groomers Own Pest Control.  His business was endorsed by over 50 Los Angeles Veterinarians and Pet Groomers.  A few years ago, the focus of the business changed and he renamed the company Rats Plus Pest Control, which remains profitably in operation today.

For all his business ability, Richard could not ignore the calling of his Creative Muse.  As a result, he has downsized the pest control business and is now devoting himself to establishing Friend Ship Productions & Publishing as a company created to promote & protect writers.
