GREG BELL
Writer
Greg Bell realized early in life he was an introvert, so, of course, he tried out for his high school production of Hamlet and was cast. He’s since logged some 80+ roles in the professional theatre, film & T.V. He has directed several plays.
He writes because he must. He’s penned two plays: Alms for Oblivion, a solo outing that he performed as the Bard of Avon, William Shakespeare, in the US & UK to outstanding reviews and awards, and Polestar, finalist in a one-act play contest at Lake Arrowhead Performing Arts Center.
It took a critical illness and near-death experience to renew his dedication to the word. LOOKING for WILL: My Bardic Quest with Shakespeare, a hybrid poetry collection was released by Ion Drive, 2015. He’s 2019 recipient of the Kowit Poetry Prize and most recently anthologized, along with poet laureates Luis Rodriguez & Joy Harjo, in Reimagine America (Vagabond.)
Bell now leads Green Poets Workshop @ Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, CA, where he’s produced numerous events. He is pleased to have co-written with Richard Roller: Peace Pilgrim, Modesto Messiah, and Forbidden Marriage.
Says he, ‘We are the agents of change; let’s go!’
